1. Definitions

1.1 "Platform" means the website and mobile application operated by UBOND Services that facilitates the discovery, booking, and payment of home-related services.

1.2 "Customer" / "User" means any person who registers on or uses the Platform to book Services.

1.3 "Technician" / "Service Professional" means an independent service provider (or a Service Partner and its personnel) listed on the Platform to render Services.

1.4 "Service(s)" means the repair, maintenance, installation, electrical, borewell, ritual, or other services listed on the Platform.

1.5 "Booking" means a confirmed request by a Customer for a Service.

1.6 "Quote" means the itemised on-site estimate provided by a Technician and approved by the Customer before chargeable work commences.

1.7 "Content" means reviews, ratings, text, images, and video submitted by Users.

1.8 "Applicable Law" means all laws of India in force.

2. Nature of the Platform (Intermediary)

2.1 The Platform is an electronic marketplace / intermediary that connects Customers with independent Technicians. Unless expressly stated in writing, the Platform does not itself perform the Services and is not the employer of independent Technicians.

2.2 The contract for the performance of a Service is between the Customer and the Technician; the Platform facilitates that contract, payment, verification, and support, and provides the protections expressly set out in these Terms.

2.3 Notwithstanding clause 2.1, the Platform undertakes the verification, warranty, safety, and damage-protection commitments expressly stated herein.

3. Eligibility & Acceptance

3.1 You must be 18 years or older and legally competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872.

3.2 By registering, booking, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and all referenced policies. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

4. Account Registration

4.1 You must provide accurate, current information and verify your mobile number (and/or email) via OTP.

4.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.

4.3 We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, fraud, misuse, or safety reasons (clause 18).

5. Bookings, Quotes & Pricing

5.1 Prices for fixed-price Services are displayed at booking. For repair Services, a visit/inspection charge may apply, comprising a base charge and, where applicable, a travelling allowance determined by the distance of the service location from the Platform's nearest operating office, disclosed to the Customer before Booking confirmation. The final price is determined by an on-site Quote which the Customer must approve before chargeable work begins.

5.2 If a Customer rejects a Quote, only the applicable visit/inspection charge is payable and the Booking is closed.

5.3 Spare parts, where supplied via the Platform, are billed as itemised in the Quote and may carry a markup, disclosed to the Customer.

5.4 All prices are inclusive/exclusive of applicable taxes as indicated; a tax-compliant invoice is issued.

6. Payments, Commission & Refunds

6.1 Payments are processed through a third-party payment gateway supporting UPI/QR, cards, netbanking, and wallet. The Platform does not store card credentials.

6.2 The Platform earns a commission/service fee on Bookings, and may retain applicable charges as disclosed.

6.3 Payments may be held in an escrow-style arrangement and released to the Technician upon completion, net of commission and applicable statutory deductions.

6.4 Refunds, where due, are processed to the original payment method or the User wallet per the Refund & Cancellation policy (clause 7), typically within 5–7 working days.

6.5 No blanket non-refund. No term is to be read as making every payment non-refundable where that conflicts with consumer law, a specific promise, or the facts. Where only part of the approved work was performed, the Customer is given a clear account of the completed work and charges, and any amount retained must be contractually and legally justified.

6.6 A direct cash payment to a Technician is not automatically treated as received by the Platform unless authorised; this does not decide liability where the Platform authorised, represented, or was legally responsible for the collection. Report duplicate, debited-but-unconfirmed, or misdirected payments through official support with the transaction reference.

7. Cancellation, Rescheduling & No-Show

7.1 Cancellations made before 2 hours of the scheduled slot are free; later cancellations may attract a fee as disclosed at the time of cancellation.

7.2 Rescheduling is permitted subject to availability and limits disclosed on the Platform.

7.3 Customer no-show: the visit/inspection charge may be retained. Technician no-show: the Booking is reassigned and the Customer may be compensated per policy.

8. Warranty & Service Guarantee

8.1 Eligible Services carry a workmanship warranty and, where parts are supplied, a parts warranty, for the periods stated on the Platform (indicatively: appliance repair and servicing 15 days on the same fault; installation workmanship 90 days; platform-supplied parts as stated, or the manufacturer warranty where longer). The applicable period is stated on the warranty certificate issued with each completed Booking.

8.2 The warranty covers only the same fault on the same item/part serviced, and entitles the Customer to a free re-service within the warranty period.

8.3 The warranty is void or inapplicable where: the fault is new or unrelated; a third party has tampered with or repaired the item after the Service; the item was misused, or suffered physical, liquid, impact, environmental, or power-surge damage after the Service; the Customer supplied the parts; or the Customer declined a disclosed repair. Consumables and normal wear are excluded.

8.4 Warranty claims must be raised through the Platform within the warranty period.

8.5 Completion, OTP & no waiver. A completion OTP, digital confirmation, or signed job sheet evidences only what was actually recorded or communicated at completion. It does not prove that every hidden or later-discovered defect has been resolved, and does not waive any statutory right that cannot lawfully be waived. Where testing could not occur because utilities, parts, or safe conditions were unavailable, that fact is recorded rather than confirmed as a completed test.

8.6 A commercial warranty under this clause is additional to the statutory consumer rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Missing paperwork does not automatically defeat a statutory right where other evidence exists.

9. Technician Verification (scope and limits)

9.1 The Platform screens Technicians to a defined standard, which may include identity, address, criminal/court, and skill verification, and issues verification badges indicating the checks performed and the date thereof.

9.2 Verification is performed to the standard disclosed and is not, and shall not be construed as, an absolute guarantee of any Technician's future conduct. India maintains no single public national criminal database; checks are limited to available court, police, and documentary records.

9.3 Customers should nonetheless verify the arriving Technician's in-app identity/QR and use the start-job code before permitting work.

10. Customer Obligations & Conduct

10.1 The Customer shall provide safe, lawful access to the premises; accurate information; and shall not harass, abuse, coerce, or endanger any Technician.

10.2 The Customer shall pay all approved charges and shall not solicit off-Platform dealings to circumvent fees (clause 15).

10.3 Misconduct may result in warnings, suspension, blacklisting, and, where applicable, referral to law-enforcement.

11. Technician Obligations & Conduct

11.1 The Technician shall perform Services with reasonable skill and care, honour approved Quotes and warranties, behave professionally, carry valid verification, and comply with Applicable Law and the Platform's code of conduct.

11.2 The Technician shall not solicit off-Platform payment or dealings, misrepresent identity, or send a substitute who is not the verified person.

12. Damage, Liability & Claims

12.1 Damage to Customer property: Verified accidental damage to the Customer's property or serviced appliance caused by a Technician during a Booking is covered up to ₹10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand) per incident under the Platform's Damage Protection, subject to the exclusions in the Liability & Warranty policy. Claims must be raised within 72 (seventy-two) hours of the Service with supporting photographic and/or video evidence.

12.2 Harm to Technicians: The Platform provides safety mechanisms (SOS, right to refuse, incident reporting) and may compensate a Technician where a Booking is aborted due to Customer misconduct.

12.3 Claims are investigated and adjudicated by the Platform; payouts, where approved, are made from insurance and/or the Platform's protection pool. Fraudulent claims void cover and attract penalties.

12.4 Save for the express protections in these Terms, the Platform is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent Technicians or Customers.

12.5 Fair handling of claims. Acknowledging a complaint is not an admission of liability; responsibility depends on the facts, actual contractual role, scope, causation, evidence, and Applicable Law. A claim will not be rejected solely because the Customer signed a completion record or confirmed an OTP, or solely because the Technician is described as an independent third party.

12.6 Emergencies & evidence. For immediate risks — fire, electric shock, gas leak, flooding, or injury — prioritise safety and contact the appropriate emergency services or utility provider first. Where safe, preserve the affected item without alteration until inspection, except to prevent further harm. Relevant evidence includes photographs, invoices, job sheets, booking logs, messages, and witness details, and the parties should cooperate reasonably and honestly.

13. Reviews & User Content

13.1 Reviews may be submitted only for verified, completed Bookings and must be truthful, lawful, and non-defamatory.

13.2 By submitting Content, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, and use it for operating and promoting the Platform.

13.3 The Platform may moderate, refuse, or remove Content that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or violates these Terms.

14. Referral & Commission Programs

14.1 Referral and incentive rewards are subject to the program rules published on the Platform, including caps, eligibility, and anti-fraud conditions. Rewards obtained through fraud, self-referral, or manipulation are void and may be clawed back.

15. Prohibited Conduct

You shall not: (a) circumvent Platform fees by transacting off-Platform; (b) provide false information; (c) impersonate or substitute persons; (d) upload unlawful/harmful content; (e) attempt to breach security, scrape, or misuse the Platform; (f) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

16. Intellectual Property

16.1 All Platform software, trademarks, and content (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to the Platform and may not be used without written permission.

17. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

17.1 Except for the express warranties and protections herein, the Platform is provided "as is" and "as available."

17.2 To the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, and subject to clause 12 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Platform's aggregate liability arising out of a Booking shall not exceed the greater of the Booking value or the applicable Damage-Protection cap.

17.3 The Platform is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Applicable Law.

17A. Website Transparency & E-Commerce Compliance

17A.1 Legal identity. The Platform displays its exact legal name, principal geographic address, website details, and customer-care/grievance contact information clearly and accessibly, as required by the applicable Rules.

17A.2 Provider model. The booking flow discloses whether the Platform is the direct contracting provider or a marketplace/intermediary (clause 2), and website statements, contracts, invoices, and actual operations are kept consistent.

17A.3 Rankings & sponsored listings. Where applicable, the main parameters used to rank Services are explained and any sponsored listing is clearly identified. Search results are not manipulated to mislead.

17A.4 Price-reduction display. From 1 January 2027, where the 2026 E-Commerce Amendment applies, any declared price reduction shows both the reduced price and the prior price as defined by the Rules. "Starting from" prices are not presented so as to mislead about likely total cost.

17A.5 Dark patterns. The Platform complies with the Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023 and the amended e-commerce requirements, including any required annual self-audit and prominent display of the certificate. No deceptive or manipulative interface patterns are used.

17A.6 Accurate descriptions. Service descriptions, prices, reviews, ratings, and offers must not mislead about cost, qualifications, availability, or likely results.

18. Indemnity

18.1 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Platform against claims, losses, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misconduct, or your violation of Applicable Law or third-party rights.

18.2 Fair indemnity. This indemnity is narrow, fair, and does not require the Customer to indemnify the Platform for every claim regardless of fault. It does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and no booking, payment, OTP, signature, or completion confirmation waives a statutory right that cannot be waived.

19. Suspension & Termination

19.1 We may suspend or terminate your access for breach, fraud, safety concerns, or legal requirement, with notice where practicable.

19.2 Provisions that by their nature survive termination (payments due, liability, indemnity, dispute resolution) shall survive.

20. Grievance Redressal

20.1 In compliance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Grievance Officer is:

  • Name: Vaibhav Gaurangkumar Rana
  • Email: support@ubond.in
  • Phone: +91 9725705784
  • Address: E-502, Motnath Residency, Near Water Tank, Harni, Vadodara, Gujarat – 390022
  • Response timeline: acknowledgement within 48 hours; resolution within one month or as prescribed by law.

20.2 Complaint details. Please provide the Booking ID, invoice, service date, contact details, a description of the issue, and any supporting evidence.

20.3 2027 e-commerce requirement. Where the 2026 Amendment Rules apply from 1 January 2027, the Grievance Officer will acknowledge a consumer complaint within 48 hours, provide a copy of the complaint as recorded, and redress it within one month, in accordance with the notified Rules.

20.4 External remedies. Internal complaint handling does not prevent the Customer from approaching the National Consumer Helpline (1915), the appropriate consumer commission, a regulator, a court, or any other competent forum available under law.

20.5 Records. Secure complaint records — receipt, acknowledgement, review, outcome, and any refund/re-service decision — are retained for the legally required or lawful retention period.

21. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

21.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

21.2 The parties shall first attempt amicable resolution. Failing that, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Vadodara, Gujarat, without prejudice to the consumer forums and statutory remedies available to a Customer under law.

21.3 Nothing herein limits a consumer's rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

22. Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for failure or delay due to events beyond reasonable control (natural disasters, strikes, outages, governmental action, etc.).

23. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms; material changes will be notified. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

24. Miscellaneous

24.1 If any provision is held invalid, the remainder stays in effect.

24.2 Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.

24.3 These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and referenced policies, constitute the entire agreement.

24.4 You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign to an affiliate or successor.
